Longest Ride EVER!

I had a FABULOUS ride yesterday! Myself and a fellow SAA member (who will remain nameless for now...or at least until he tells his coach) rode from Steveston to White Cliff Park West Vancouver. The weather was great, I felt great and the company was great!
I kept saying to myself, and out loud, "I can't believe we just rode to Horseshoe Bay from home" The distance in a car seems daunting let alone riding there. Amazing.
The whole ride to 6hours and 19mins and was 142.5kms.
Today, the day after, I feel fantastic. Today is a rest day so I will take it easy. Can't wait to see what Coach K has planned for me in the next few weeks.
Only 40 days to IMC now.

Happy Training!

Awesome - congrats! I've yet to ride more than 50 miles. That's quite an accomplishment!
You said "today is a rest day"... if there was ever an earned "rest day" I would say this was one! Congrats! Keep it up!

Pave Culture Cycliste - Barcelona Bike Shop

In March we took a family trip to Spain for spring break.  The primary reason for this trip was to attend football (soccer) matches in Madrid and Barcelona.  As a family, we researched this trip A LOT and found A LOT of very cool things to do in the cities we visited (Madrid, Valencia and Barcelona).  One of those cool things was a destination bike shop in Barcelona.

We set aside one afternoon to head out to the shop.  Not having rented a car, we studied the train routes and schedules and determined it was about 30 mins outside of Barcelona in El Prat del Llobergat.

After missing our first train by about 2 minutes, we had to wait another 30 minutes for the next train.  This was the first of our missed connections and confusion for this journey.  Once we arrived at the train station closest to the shop, we still had about a 20 minute walk to the shop.  It is an industrial area so there were no taxis to be found.  The whole time we were travelling to the shop, I was secretly worried tha…

Fun

In early February, I bought a season's pass to Grouse Mountain.  I have owned a pass in the past but not in for a few years.  My main goal was to get up on Monday and/or Wednesday nights for the Social Snowshoe.  90 minutes snowshoeing up the Snowshoe Grind and over the back side of Dam Mountain.  Headlamps required.

Yes, these are terrible photos.  I only took photos this one time.  I realized that the iPhone will not take good photos in these conditions and you miss the actual moment trying to get a good photo.
In addition to Grouse, I have been up to Cypress Mountain Nordic area two times this season
